GCC Wary Of U.S. BMD Expansion
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The Gulf Cooperation Council has been silent over a
U.S. proposal to expand a missile defense umbrella.
Officials said the six GCC states have not responded to a proposal by
the United States to enhance and expand its missile defense umbrella over
the Gulf. Under the proposal, the Defense Department would approve the
deployment of a second X-band radar in the region.
