Saudis Mull Uranium Enrichment

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Saudi Arabia has been mulling the prospect of enriching
uranium for nuclear fuel.
Industry sources said the Saudi kingdom, less than two years after
announcing plans for nuclear reactors, was considering proposals to mine and
enrich uranium. The sources said foreign consultants have recommended that
the Gulf Cooperation Council state seek independence from Western and other
nuclear suppliers.
