U.S. Concerned Over Strategic Assets In Egypt
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has been concerned over the fate of
its strategic assets in Egypt.
A report to Congress stressed Egypt's role in U.S. strategy in the
Middle East and other areas amid the campaign to topple President Hosni
Mubarak. The Congressional Research Service said Egypt's role was a key
reason why Washington rejected calls to reduce U.S. military aid despite
Cairo's poor human rights record.
