Lebanon Ready To Order Russian Weapons
MOSCOW [MENL] -- Lebanon has agreed to negotiate weapons deals with Russia.
Officials said the government of Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora
has concluded preliminary talks with Moscow over the Russian supply of a
range of weapons and platforms. They said the Lebanese Defense Ministry and
the army would discuss prices and delivery schedule with Russia over the
next few weeks.
"It very important to see a strong Lebanese Armed Forces," Russian
Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation director Mikhail
Dimitriev said. "We intend to provide a new impetus to our bilateral
relations in the military and technical field."
