TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel has selected an unmanned aerial vehicle for its
project to provide tactical aerial surveillance to army combat battalions.
The Defense Ministry has notified Elbit Systems that it was chosen to
supply its tactical UAV to the army. Under the award, Elbit Systems would
provide its Skylark long-endurance UAV to some 100 combat battalions.
"Elbit Systems announced that it was selected by the Israeli Defense
Ministry to fulfill the battalion-level IDF tender, calling for a wide
procurement of mini-UAVs for all IDF Ground Forces battalions, including
training and logistics support," an Elbit Systems spokeswoman said on Dec.

dollars, in accordance with IDF's requirements and procurement process."
