U.S. Concerned Over Israel Arms Exports
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States, nearly five years after winning veto
power over Israeli defense exports, remains concerned that the Jewish state
was sending weapons to adversaries.
A congressional report said the administration of President Barack Obama
has pressured Israel to cancel several potential export sales since 2009.
The report, titled "Israel: Background and U.S. Relations," said the
cancellations stemmed from an agreement in which Washington wielded a veto
over Israeli arms exports.
