Sudan Expected To Resist Civil War
LONDON [MENL] -- Despite growing military tensions, Sudan was
expected to resist another civil war, a report said.
The Eurasia Group asserted that northern and southern Sudan were not
headed for another civil war. The consultant said in a report that both the
Khartoum regime of President Omar Bashir and the new southern government in
Juba were open to compromise, particularly for control over the energy-rich
Abyei region.
