Turkey Reorganizes Intel Community

ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey has been restructuring its intelligence community.
Officials said the government of Prime Minister Recep Erdogan has
overseen the reorganization of Turkey's intelligence community. They said
the focus was Turkey's National Intelligence Organization, known by its
Turkish acronym MIT, a leading agency in the intelligence community.
"The aim is to modernize intelligence gathering and analysis," an
official said. "If this succeeds, then other agencies could undergo similar
changes."
