U.S. Unhappy With GCC Over Al Qaida
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States remains dissatisfied with the
cooperation of several Gulf Arab states against Al Qaida.
Officials said the U.S. intelligence community has determined that Al
Qaida continues to use several Gulf Cooperation Council states to finance
the Islamic insurgency. They said the GCC, despite appeals by Washington,
failed to crack down on financial transactions exploited by Al Qaida.
