Fatah Wracked By Infighting

RAMALLAH [MENL] -- The ruling Fatah movement has been wracked by infighting
in wake of the failed attempt to win international recognition of a
Palestinian state.
Fatah sources said the movement led by Palestinian Authority Chairman
Mahmoud Abbas was divided over how to confront the rival Hamas
ahead of elections planned for the spring of 2012. They said Fatah's Young
Guard has demanded a review of the failed PA attempt, led by Abbas, to win
United Nations recognition of a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza
Strip, an effort opposed by Hamas.
