Iran Seeks Sunni Proxies
JERUSALEM [MENL] -- Iran, facing the fall of the regime of President Bashar
Assad in Syria, plans to recruit Sunni Arab proxies in the Middle East, a
report said.
The Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs asserted that Iran was retaining
an option to recruit proxies in such Sunni countries as Egypt, Morocco and
Tunisia. The center, in a report by [Ret.] Lt. Col. Michael Segall, said the
revolts throughout the Arab world have generated new opportunities even for
a Shi'ite regime such as Teheran.
