Iran Could Deny Gulf Access To U.S.
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Iran was moving toward the capability to deny the
United States access to the Gulf, a report said.
The Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments asserted that Iran
was developing capabilities that could block U.S. military access to the
Gulf. In a report, the Washington-based center, which consults with the
Defense Department, warned that Teheran was following a strategy similar to
China that could prevent American warships and combat aircraft from
operating in the Strait of Hormuz or around Iran.
