AQIM Expands Beyond N. Africa

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Al Qaida Organization in the Islamic Maghreb has sought
to establish a presence beyond North Africa.
The International Center for Terrorism Studies asserted that AQIM posed
a threat to North Africa and beyond as it exploits the revolts around the
continent. The center linked AQIM to the Polisario Front and urged the
closure of Western Sahara refugee camps in Algeria.
