U.S. Consults With NATO On Assad WMD

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has been consulting with NATO allies
in an effort to safeguard the missile and weapons of mass destruction
arsenal of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
Officials said the State Department has been discussing with Western
countries the prospect that Iran would transfer Syrian missiles and WMD to
Hizbullah in neighboring Lebanon. They cited reports that chemical weapons
were believed to have been moved from central Syria to Lebanon's Bekaa
Valley in late 2011.
