Israel Picks M-346 For Next Air Trainer

TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel, capping a brutal international competition, has
selected an Italian aircraft as the next jet trainer.
The Defense Ministry said it has awarded a contract that could reach $1
billion to Italy's Alenia Aermacchi for the M-346 jet trainer. Alenia bested
the other finalist in the jet trainer tender, identified as South Korea's
Korean Aerospace Industries.
