Iran Produces S-300-Type SAM

NICOSIA [MENL] -- Iran has reported the launch of production of a long-range
air defense system similar to Russia's S-300PMU-1.
Officials said the Iranian Defense Ministry and military have overseen
initial production of the Bavar-373 air defense system. They said Bavar was
an enhanced variant of the S-300, a system ordered by Teheran and canceled
by the Kremlin in September 2010.
