Turkey OKs Aircraft Lease Project
ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey has approved the lease of surveillance aircraft
from the United States.
Officials said the Defense Industry Executive Committee has granted
permission to the government of Prime Minister Recep Erdogan to begin
negotiations for the lease of five surveillance aircraft for the Turkish Air
Force. They said the U.S. aircraft was deemed an interim solution until the
arrival of four Boeing 737 airborne early-warning and control aircraft
ordered from the United States.
