Arabs Cautious Over U.S. Mil Ties
AMMAN [MENL] -- Middle East states, despite quiet cooperation, have been
cautious over endorsing U.S. plans for expanded military relations.
Commanders from several Arab militaries expressed reservation over U.S.
plans to expand and integrate cooperation with Middle East allies. The plan
by the U.S. Special Operations Command would establish a formal link with
Middle East and other militaries for joint operations against Al Qaida and
other threats.
