In First, Saudi Women Join Military

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- For the first time, Saudi women have been allowed to
join the Gulf Arab kingdom's military.
Officials said the Saudi military and security forces have begun
recruiting women for non-combat positions. In the first step, 30 women were
recruited to work at Saudi Arabia's borders, including along the frontier
with Bahrain, to identify suspected insurgents.
