FSA Begins Paying Fighters

NICOSIA [MENL] -- The Syrian rebel movement, flushed with Gulf funding, has
begun directly paying those who battle the regime of President Bashar Assad.
Opposition sources said the Free Syrian Army has begun paying fighters
and commanders deployed in several parts of Syria. They said the salaries
began in May 2012 amid the relay of tens of millions of dollars by Qatar and
Saudi Arabia.
