U.S. Wants To Maintain Force In Kuwait

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The U.S. military plans to maintain a significant
presence in Kuwait.
A report by Congress said Washington seeks to maintain at least 13,500
combat troops in Kuwait. The report by the Senate Foreign Relations
Committee said the U.S. forces would allow rapid intervention throughout the
region, particularly to counter threats to the six Gulf Cooperation Council
states.
