Russia IDs Sam Systems To Syria

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Russia has identified deliveries of air defense systems
supplied to Syria.
A senior Russian official said the Kremlin has approved the delivery of
a series of short-range air defense systems to the regime of President
Bashar Assad. The official said all of the surface-to-air missiles were
ordered several years ago and meant for defensive operations.
