Assad's Army Headed For Breakdown
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- After more than a year of fighting Sunni rebels, the
Syrian military is heading for a breakdown, a report said.
The Washington Institute for Near East Policy asserted that the Syrian
military has come under pressure amid its war with Sunni rebels. In a report
by research fellow Jeffrey White, the institute said the Syrian military was
headed for collapse amid rising casualties and defections as well as an
expanded rebel presence throughout the country.
