Israel Prepares To Encounter Cruise Missiles
TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel has sought to modify its missile defense network
to defeat enemy cruise missile strikes.
Officials said the Defense Ministry and Israel Air Force have been
examining requirements for the nation's multi-layered missile defense system
to intercept cruise missiles. So far, the network was meant to destroy
missiles with a trajectory in the endoatmosphere.
"There are signs of cruise missiles in the Middle East," Arieh Herzog,
director of the Defense Ministry's Missile Defense Directorate, said. "They
travel low and are stealthy."
