Israeli UAV Used In U.S. Security Demo
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- An advanced Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle has been
employed for a U.S. military demonstration of anti-drug missions.
The U.S. military's Southern Command has concluded a month-long
evaluation of Israel's Heron-1 medium-altitude, long-endurance UAV.
Officials said Heron, produced by the state-owned Israel Aerospace
Industries, was deployed for a series of long-range counter-smuggling
missions titled Operation Monitoreo, which ended on May 27.
