U.S. Recruits Arab Intel For CI Ops

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The U.S. intelligence community has recruited its Arab
counterparts to help conduct counter-insurgency investigations in the Middle
East and Europe.
Diplomatic sources said the CIA and other U.S. intelligence agencies
have been using their Arab counterparts to investigate and interrogate Al
Qaida suspects. The sources said a range of U.S. intelligence and law
enforcement agencies have established a presence in Middle East states to
monitor Al Qaida and Islamic insurgency groups.
