Russia, Turkey Sign Nuke Accord

ANKARA [MENL] -- Russia and Turkey have signed a nuclear cooperation accord
meant to pave the way for the construction of the first nuclear energy
reactor in the NATO state.
Officials said the agreement, signed on Aug. 6 in Ankara, would
facilitate a Russian effort to establish a 1,200 megawatt nuclear energy
reactor in Turkey. They said Russian companies would participate in the
reactor, expected to be built along the Black Sea coast near Akuyu.
