U.S. Conceals Laser JDAM Deal With Israel
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The administration of President Barack Obama has
concealed the sale of an advanced airborne weapon to Israel.
The Defense Department has awarded a $98 million award for the delivery
of the Laser Joint Direct Attack Munition system to Israel. The Pentagon
award marked the first U.S. defense sale to Israel since Obama entered
office in January 2009.
"This is a long overdue contract," a diplomatic source said. "It was
approved by the Bush administration nearly a year ago."
