PA Again Replaces GIS Chief

RAMALLAH [MENL] -- The Palestinian Authority has replaced the commander
of a key intelligence agency with a senior officer from a rival force.
PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has dismissed the commander of the General
Intelligence Services, Mohammed Mansour. Mansour, the fourth commander of
GIS since 1994, was appointed in October 2008 and had been regarded as a
transitional figure.
