LEOPARD IS FAVORITE IN GREEK TANK TENDER

ATHENS [MENL] -- The German Leopard-2 is regarded as the favorite inGreece's search for a new main battle tank in a project estimated at $1.8billion. Greek officials said Athens is amid advanced negotiations with Berlinand Leopard-2 tank manufacturer, Krauss-Maffei. Officials said Greece isconsidering purchasing at least 500 tanks.
