PA WANTS TO END ISRAELI OK ON IMPORTS

GAZA [MENL] -- The Palestinian Authority has declared an end to Israelioverseeing of imports in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. PA officials said they regard the interim self-rule phase of thePalestinian areas as void and will import goods and products from their Arabneighbors without Israeli permission. The effort, they said, is to lowerprices of goods, which now must be in line with their counterparts inIsrael.
