NO BREAKTHROUGH IN U.S., S. KOREAN MISSILE TALKS

TOKYO [MENL] -- The United States and South Korea have ended negotiations onthe request by the Asian ally to extend the range of its missiles to strikemost of the communist north. U.S. and South Korean delegations ended two days of talks on Tuesday inSeoul without a breakthrough, officials said. But they said the negotiationsachieved progress and brought the two closer to agreement.
