LONDON [MENL] -- The Islamic opposition wants to reconcile with SyrianPresident Bashar Assad amid what it terms is the threat by Israel toDamascus and Beirut. The banned Muslim Brotherhood appealed to Assad to join forces in faceof Israeli threats. At least 600 Brotherhood members remain in jail despitepledges by aides to Assad to begin their release.
