MUBARAK UNDER PRESSURE ON ARAB LEAGUE SUMMIT
CAIRO [MENL] -- Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is under pressure fromhardline Arab states that have expressed concern that the weekend ArabLeague summit will take no action against Israel. Mubarak has been forced to defend his position amid calls by Arabs todeclare war against Israel. "War is not a game," Mubarak said. "Whoeverspeaks of war does not know of its cost. If there are people who want us tofight down to the last Egyptian soldier, we are not prepared for that." On Thursday, Arab League foreign ministers convene to prepare forSaturday's summit. Arab diplomatic sources said the ministers will reviewthe Sharm e-Sheik summit earlier this week.
