RUSSIA VIOLATED U.S. ACCORD TO HALT NUKES TO IRAN

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Russia has violated a commitment to the United Statesto halt the sale of systems required for nuclear weapons to Iran. U.S. intelligence sources said that such a commitment was provided byRussian President Boris Yeltsin to President Bill Clinton in 1995. Thesources said U.S. intelligence obtained a copy of a contract for the Russiaconstruction of an Iranian nuclear reactor at Bushehr. During his meetingwith Yeltsin, Clinton presented the contract.
