ISRAEL'S ELBIT OBTAINS U.S. APPROVAL FOR SYSTEM

TEL AVIV [MENL] -- A leading Israeli defense contractor has obtained U.S.approval for the installation of a system meant to enhance plane safety andsecurity. Elbit Systems, based in Haifa, said the U.S. Federal AviationAdministration certified the installation of the Enhanced Vision Systemon the Gulfstream-5 ultra-long range business jet aircraft. The systemallows the pilot to detect lights and ground features such as runways,aircraft and buildings at night and in low visibility conditions.
