INDIAN APPOINTED NEW HEAD OF UNIFIL

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- An Indian general has been appointed the new commanderof the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon. Gen. Lalit Mohan Tewari of India replaces Gen. Seth Kofi Obeng of Ghana.Obeng ended his command on May 15 and his duties had been assumed by actingforce commander Gen. Ganesan Athmanathan of India.
