ELTA, LOCKHEED WIN U.S. NAVY SAR STUDY
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- An Israeli-U.S. consortium has won a $672,000 U.S. Navycontract to examine the feasibility of a synthetic aperture radar pod forthe F-18E/F fighter. The consortium consists of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control andElta Electronics Industries, a subsidiary of Israel Aircraft Industries.Under a contract awarded in late June, the two companies will conduct anintegration and impact study to incorporate the Tactical All-WeatherCollection and Long Range [TACL] with the Synthetic Aperture Radar systeminto the SHAred Reconnaissance [SHARP] pod system.
