ARABS CONTINUE WIDESPREAD USE OF TORTURE

CAIRO [MENL] -- Arab regimes continue to employ the widespread use oftorture against political detainees, a new report said. The Cairo-based Arab Organization for Human Rights said in a new250-page report that Arab regimes in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Syria andSudan have killed dissidents in detention. They said most Arab regimesrepress any form of peaceful protest.
