FRANCE COMMITS TO ISRAEL'S EAGLE-1 UAV

LONDON [MENL] -- Despite its failure to announce a deal, France hascommitted to the purchase of an Israeli unmanned air vehicle. Executives said the French Defense Ministry plans to procure anundetermined number of Eagle-1 systems from the state-owned Israel AircraftIndustries. The Eagle-1, described as long-endurance UAV, is a jointventure with the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Agency.
