GULF INCREASES SECURITY TO PROTECT WESTERNERS

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Gulf Cooperation Council states have increased securitymeasures to ensure protection against Westerners. Gulf defense sources said GCC members are increasing protection ofschools, expatriate residential areas and facilities used by nationals fromBritain, Canada and the United States. The increased security was promptedby a rash of attacks on Westerners in such places as Kuwait, Saudi Arabiaand the United Arab Emirates.
