HEAVY FIGHTING RESUMES IN WAR-TORN SUDAN

CAIRO [MENL] -- Heavy fighting is reported to have resumed in war-tornsouthern Sudan. Both rebels and government forces have issued conflicting claims in thelatest battles of the 18-year war. The fighting was said to have taken placefrom Oct. 12-20.
