ISRAEL SEEKS TO KEEP UN TIFF OUT OF INDIAN TIES
TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel seeks to maintain its strategic relations withIndia despite allegations that its soldiers cooperated in the Hizbullahabduction of three Israeli soldiers in October. Officials said Israel has relayed a message to New Dehli that India isnot being held responsible for the conduct of the Indian contingent ofUnited Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon, alleged to have received hundredsof thousands of dollars to cooperate with the Hizbullah abduction. Israelimilitary sources said Indian soldiers, unlike their counterparts from Fiji,Finland and Ghana, acted in an unprofessional manner.
