ISRAEL'S MILITARY PLANS TO DEPLOY IMPROVED MLRS

TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel's military plans to deploy an improved multiplelaunch rocket system that developers tout as being five times more accuratethan the original model. The Israel Defense Forces has developed a new guidance system forLockheed Martin's 227 mm MLRS that is meant to destroy enemy missilebatteries. The new Ramam system is operated by a three-man crew and launchesrockets that proceed in an autonomous flight that resembles that ofwarheads.
