JORDAN AWAITS U.S. APPROVAL ON TANKS

AMMAN [MENL] -- Jordan has acknowledged that the United States has blockedthe kingdom's plans to donate 50 tanks to Lebanon. Jordanian officials said they want to transfer 50 M-48 tanks to theLebanese military. The tanks are part of 212 M-48s retired from service.
