AMMAN [MENL] -- Jordan is again appealing for water from Syria to stave offa shortage over the next few months. The two countries are discussing the issue after similar efforts held inApril failed amid Amman's claims that Damascus has violated a 1987 wateraccord. Damascus controls much of the rivers and streams that flow southinto the Hashemite kingdom and Syrian dams along the Yarmouk river havedecreased the amount of water into Jordan.
