RUSSIA SHOVES ISRAEL ASIDE IN MIG DEAL

MOSCOW [MENL] -- Russia has beaten Israel out of a competition to supply anAsian country with Soviet-era aircraft. Russian industry sources said the Asian state of Myanmar, formerlyBurma, has agreed to a $150 million deal for eight surplus MiG-29 fightersandtwo MiG-29UB combat trainers. The contract includes weapons for all of thefighter-jets.
