RUSSIA INTERESTED IN EXPLORING FOR LEBANESE GAS

NICOSIA [MENL] -- Russia has expressed interest in exploring for energy offthe Lebanese coast. Lebanese sources said the prospect was discussed during the visit byLebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri to Moscow last week. The sources saidthe government has assessed that quantities of natural gas can be found intheMediterranean in Lebanese territorial waters.
