SAUDIS SHELVE $1.4 BILLION G-6 ARTILLERY DEAL

LONDON [MENL] -- Saudi Arabia has shelved plans to buy an advanced artillerysystem from South Africa worth more than $1.4 billion. Officials and industry sources said Riyad has relayed its intention topostpone a deal to buy the G--6 self-propelled aritllery system fromPretoria. The G-6 is produced by the state-owned Denel Group.
