SAUDIS EYES EUROFIGHTER JET

LONDON [MENL] -- Saudi Arabia is quietly examining the prospect ofpurchasing the Eurofighter warplane. European industry sources said Riyad is considering the EurofighterTyphoon as a replacement for its aging fleet of U.S.-built F-5s andBritish-built Tornado F-3 fighters. The sources said Saudi officials areconsidering the prospect of purchasing up to three separate aircraft. TheTornado was purchased by Riyad in 1989.
